This allows Eman Schools to be able to administer the PSAT, SAT, and AP exams on campus.

PSAT-Weds. October 27th, 2021 (6th & 7th Grade Students) & October 13th, 2021 (8th-11th Grade Students)

For those parents not familiar with the importance of these exams and of having the opportunity to administer these exams, here is a brief history lesson.
In 1900, the College Board was created to expand access to higher education. Formed by a handful of colleges, the purpose of the CollegeBoard was to simplify the application process for students and the college admission offices. The 1st College Board Examination was given June 17-22, 1901. (For those students who thought 4 hours of testing was hard, imagine that 6 DAYS!)
In 1926, the College Board Examination was changed to the SAT test, which is still in use today. The SAT test is a nationally known test that colleges REQUIRE prior to determination of acceptance into their school and for scholarships. Gone are the days where the 4.0 was the major factor for acceptability. Colleges expect students to be well rounded and not only have good grades but also have a respectable score on their SAT to reflect the course work they earned while in high school, along with volunteer hours, and extra curricular activities. SAT scores are based on a possible 800 in 3 categories, Mathematics, Critical Reading, and the later added Writing portion. There are also Specialized Subject SAT exams for students who want to show their knowledge in Science, Social Studies, or Foreign Languages.
In 1955, CollegeBoard created the AP Program. AP stands for Advanced Placement and these are classes that are taught at the High School that will allow a test to be given in May of each year. If the student receives a score of 3 or higher (out of 5), the student will receive College Credit for that course.
In 1959, the PSAT test was created. This is also sometimes called the Preliminary or Preliminary SAT. It does NOT feature a written section but will give students a glimpse at what the SAT will be like. It is ONLY given in October of each year. With the statistical information from the PSAT, CollegeBoard is able to give students and Schools (like us) feedback on who would be good candidates for the AP Program.
In 1971, the National Merit Scholarship Program was started and scholarships were offered to ONLY 11th Grade students. Students that score in the top 1% become National Merit Scholarship Winners. Each year the score various slightly and for Indiana hovers around 209-210.
Now, more than a century after evaluating those first few test-takers in 6/1901, CollegeBoard is serving more than seven million students and help them prepare for a successful transition to college EACH YEAR.
